ABOUT THIS PIECE

The phrase “we hug trees because we love trees” is a simple yet powerful statement that emphasizes the importance of nature and our connection to it. It is a reminder that we should cherish and protect the natural world around us, and that we have a responsibility to preserve it for future generations.

The first mural depicts a happy young girl and boy embracing an ebony tree in front of a colorful sky. The ebony tree is a symbol of strength, resilience, and longevity. It is known for its dense, dark wood that is used to make musical instruments, furniture, and other decorative items. The tree’s deep roots are also symbolic of the importance of staying grounded and connected to one’s roots.

The second mural depicts a young boy embracing a cedar elm tree as he holds a small branch in his hands and observes it with his gaze. The cedar elm tree is a symbol of wisdom, protection, and growth. It is known for its hardy nature and ability to withstand harsh weather conditions. The tree’s leaves are also symbolic of the importance of growth and change.

The bright, colorful sky behind the children in both portions of the mural represents the limitless potential of nature and the importance of preserving it for future generations. The mural is a beautiful tribute to the power and beauty of nature and the importance of protecting it.
