ABOUT THIS PIECE
RGV Nature portrays the beauty of the everyday nature seen in the valley. This piece includes imagery of native wildlife and plants. My father grows a beautiful butterfly weed plant in our backyard, and it quickly attracted native butterflies such as the monarch. It made me appreciate the nature within the RGV, which is why both the monarch butterflies and butterfly weed plants can be seen on the pipe. I chose a simple, modernistic, vector-like style to show the creative ways animals and plants can be broken down into very basic shapes, but still be recognizable in their unique forms. - Emily Ann Guerra
ABOUT THIS ARTIST
I'm a 22 year old recent UTRGV Graduate- earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. I'm a Graphic Designer, Digital Artist, and Traditional Artist skilled at creating many things from signage, advertisements, posters, shirts, portraits, paintings, logos, and more! My goal is to become an educator in Digital Design and/or Art at a secondary educational institution. I want to teach new generations about the endless opportunities they have by pursuing a career in art and design. I also enjoy working freelance projects as they give me the experience I need to grow as an Artist and Designer. - Emily Ann Guerra
