This painting highlights the beautiful live oak trees, a native tree to RGV, commonly found around the valley and making our neighborhoods charming with their tall, rugged trunks and deep green leaves. It was also inspired by wild flowers such as Basket flowers, Bearded Dalia, Gold Tickseed, Indian Blanket, Darfur Morning Glory and Mexican hat. - Cibele Saporito

ABOUT THIS ARTIST

Cibele Shimabukuro Saporito was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Cibele started painting in acrylic in middle school and then transition to oil paint. After high school, she immigrated to the USA where she learned English, received a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from Brigham Young University, Utah and later on a doctor's degree of optometry from The Ohio State University. She moved to Texas in 2013 and has been enjoying the Mexican/American culture along with learning Spanish. Art plays a big part of her life as she enjoys ceramics, singing, dancing and playing the piano. She also enjoys the outdoors hiking, traveling and the beach, but the main joy in life is her family, her faith in God and working on her family history. She is married to Juan Carlos Leano, from Bolivia and they together have 7 children and 5 grandchildren.
