ABOUT THIS PIECE

Moving from one place to another or going through transformation to start something new in a positive way. The mural has three main elements. The central characters are an elderly man and a girl who symbolize a continuation of a legacy. Additionally, there are three birds that migrate for a chance of survival. Finally, an orange tree, used as a symbol of emigration.

Arabs took it to Spain, and the fruit came to America from Spain and Portugal. The orange is a Rio Grande Valley icon, not only economically, but historically and culturally.
