ABOUT THIS PIECE

“La Luna y El Sol Bailan” is a depiction of the beautiful figurative dance created by the sun and moon as they shift positions in the sky at day break and nightfall.  The sun and moon are dressed as folklorico dancers reminiscent of the vibrant and colorful form of local dance.  The original design for the pipe mural comes from my 1st place design for the 2023 South Texas Book Festival Bookmark Contest.  - Sofia Marie Trevino
