ABOUT THIS PIECE

The rugged but beautiful terrain of the South Texas chaparral will often reveal surprises and night with blooming cacti. These flowers will in turn attract wildlife such as pollinating moths. This art piece hopes to share the importance of native biodiversity.

ABOUT THIS ARTIST

Ariel is a local artist from Mission, TX. As a master naturalist and preservationist, her works include a colorful, whimsical representation of landscapes. The goal is to reveal the symbiotic relationships between all creatures, including humans. I have done other community projects such as a turtle statue located at the SPI Convention Center, and another is going in at the Padre Island Brewing Company as well as a butterfly in front of Mission's Historical Museum & another is going up at the Bryan House.
