ABOUT THIS PIECE

This piece was inspired by Dr. Magallan’s experience of South Padre Island. South Padre Island is a very unique habitat for endangered sea turtles and the artist wanted to bring her love of the ocean to this side of the Valley. Many of her special memories from childhood and new memories stem from small trips to the beach. The artist wanted to bring those special memories that other RGV families have to south McAllen.
