In this piece it has a lot of representations based in the city of McAllen. The sun that is on the top, represents the beautiful sunsets that we can appreciate in here. Also, the famous palms, and sunflowers that we see all around the city, including butterflies and cactus. The city has long had a large population of Mexican ancestry, with ranching economy and farming economy. It is also a processing center for citrus fruits, vegetables, and cotton, and it is one of the most important ports of entry for trade with Mexico.  - Veronica Medina

ABOUT THIS ARTIST

Veronica Medina is a Mexican artist that emigrated from Monterrey, Mexico ten years ago. She pursues a career in Studio Art at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and chasing her master’s degree in Art Education. Veronica is an innovated artist that collaborates with the City of McAllen to paint Irrigation Pipes throughout the city. Also, produce a couple of prominent murals for different industrial business at McAllen, Tx. Continually grow a network of clients and connections, creating a variety of fine art pieces including, paintings, wood projects, printmaking, and photography.
