ABOUT THIS PIECE

This piece is inspired by the ocean and the many textures and colors you can find in all of their creatures, from seashells to starfish, to clams, portrayed by their unique border to create a pattern that is easy to perceive from a distance, but detailed enough to notice all the differences up close. - Jimi Keirn & Vivi Sanguino

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Jimi Keirn

Jimi Keirn is a self-taught artist from McAllen, TX. He paints feelings using color and motion. Every experience and every moment of every day comes with feelings. For years, he suppressed and ran from those feelings. He was unsure what they meant, didn’t like how they felt, and inevitably ran from them. Avoiding his feelings led to loneliness and isolation, stunting his emotional and spiritual growth. But then he found art. Painting allows him to set those emotions free. It lets him put onto canvas what he can’t put into words. His hope is that my art connects to everyone on some level.

Vivi Sanguino

Vivi Sanguino is a self-taught artist from Mexico City. She has been painting since childhood but decided to focus on her art career in the past year. Her main focus is the beauty of life, from animals to scenery, to the simple act of being alive. She uses mainly watercolors but has dabbled with gouache and acrylics in the past few months.
